D J Roper, an aspiring Eagle Scout, approached Our Lady of the Rosary Cemetery and Prayer Gardens with a proposal for enhancing the Walk of the Beatitudes as part of his required Eagle Scout project. Other Eagles Scouts from his trip will also assist. Our Lady will soon have a new deck with seating near the pond where individuals can spend quiet time in prayer and enjoy nature and the many birds that frequent the trails. Birdhouses will also be placed in strategic points along the trails.
In addition to the Eagle Scout project, Cindy Stone has been designated the project leader for Good Water Master Naturalist project undertaken by the Williamson County Master Gardener. Cindy will make improvements to the pond area on the south side of the cemetery grounds with concentration on water vegetation control and natural grasses. She will also oversee the placement of the bird houses for the various species inhabiting the cemetery grounds.
